In 2023, you—the lung cancer community—watched our Lung Cancer Living Room episodes more than 43,000 times! We know that every episode resonates with different people who are living with or at risk for lung cancer depending on their current experiences or interests, but five rose to the top as the most watched episodes of the year.
- The most watched episode in 2023 was, by far, the Aug. 15 Living Room with Dr. Jacob Sands, The New Age of Small Cell Lung Cancer. In this episode, Dr. Sands shared current SCLC treatment options, exciting new SCLC research advances, the value of palliative care for people with lung cancer, and tips for educating and empowering yourself after a diagnosis.
- The second most popular episode of the year was What’s New in Pulmonary Care with Dr. D. Kyle Hogarth, which originally aired on Sept. 19. Always a crowd favorite, Dr. Hogarth covered a wide variety of information, including how biopsies are performed, a pulmonologist’s role in biomarker testing and lung cancer staging, ways that pulmonologists treat and manage symptoms or complications related to lung cancer treatment and care, and how pulmonologists can help people living with lung cancer keep doing the things that make them happy, despite compromised lung function.
- Coming in third was the March 10 Special Edition episode on Biomarker Testing for NSCLC/SCLC – Early and Late Stage with Dr. Benjamin Levy. In this episode, Dr. Levy discussed the importance of and advances made in molecular testing. He spoke about how molecular testing can affect your treatment, the different types of biopsies—including the value of newer blood-based biopsies, and why biomarker testing is seen as important for earlier-stage lung cancer patients.
- Our fourth most popular episode of 2023 aired on Jan. 17 and invited the community to Meet the GO2 Team: Who We Are and What We Do. In this episode, Living Room host and Chief Patient Officer Danielle Hicks introduced many of the programs and services available and some of the GO2 staff who lead them.
- The fifth most watched episode last year covered the Best of ASCO, which aired on July 18 featuring Dr. Sarah Goldberg. In this episode, Dr. Goldberg shared the most promising research presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology last year and what it means for the future of lung cancer care.
