An important development in lung cancer research over the past decade or so is the increased prioritization of the patient experience in the research process. Including patient voices in lung cancer research helps to ensure that new research projects best meet the needs of lung cancer patients and survivors.

In March’s Lung Cancer Living Room, (filmed at our annual Lung Cancer Voices Summit in Washington, DC) GO2 for Lung Cancer’s Associate Director, Clinical Research Andrew Ciupek, PhD was joined by a panel of guests to discuss why patient participation in lung cancer research is so important, what roles patients can play in the research process and the impact patients may have on research outcomes.

Speakers: Joe Patterson, Manager, Public Affairs, Friends of Cancer Research; Jim Pantelas, lung cancer survivor and advocate; Judy Johnson, cancer survivor and advocate and Elda Railey, Cofounder, Research Advocacy Network

  • Friends of Cancer Research unites scientists, pharmaceutical companies and policy makers to accelerate policy change, support groundbreaking science and deliver new therapies to patients quickly and safely.
