GO2 for Lung Cancer relentlessly confronts lung cancer on every front, every day. We were founded by patients and survivors and are dedicated to increasing survival for those at risk, diagnosed and living with lung cancer. Our work focuses on four key goals that we believe will have the biggest impact on survival:

  1. Increase the rate of lung cancers diagnosed early.
  2. Increase the rate of comprehensive biomarker testing/precision medicine.
  3. Increase the reach and impact of community engagement.
  4. Improve quality of life for people affected by lung cancer.

All of GO2’s programs, services and events support one or more of these goals to meet the varied needs of our community across the care continuum.

In January’s Lung Cancer Living Room  conversation GO2’s Chief Patient Officer and Living Room host, Danielle Hicks, was joined by a few GO2 colleagues to explain GO2’s focus and how this directly benefits patients, survivors, caregivers and health care professionals. Whether you are new to GO2 or have been a part of our community for a long time, we know you will learn more about GO2 for Lung Cancer from this month’s episode.

Mentioned in this episode:

  • GO2’s Lung Cancer Registry is a global online database where patients and caregivers share their experiences through surveys that provide data to fuel new research and therapies. Everyone diagnosed with lung cancer is encouraged to join the Registry, and caregivers should complete the Caregiver Survey to share their specific experiences and needs.
  • The Addario Lung Cancer Medical Institute (ALCMI) is a GO2 sister organization that executes clinical research studies in partnership with GO2 for Lung Cancer and lung cancer researchers and investigators around the world. One current study, the SPARK trial, is exploring resistance to KRAS and evaluating new mutations that can develop after treatment with targeted therapies.
  • Our Centers of Excellence program (COE) is a network of 850 healthcare facilities who are dedicated and committed to quality care. These facilities represent large health systems and community-based facilities across the country. GO2 provides COEs with the latest updates in the field, including scientific and clinical discoveries, best practice standards and clinical guidelines. GO2 also helps them identify quality care criteria and meet and exceed quality standards for their patients.
  • GO2’s Patient and Support Services offer a variety of programs to educate and support people living with lung cancer, including one-on-one support, ways to connect with others in the community in-person or from the safety of your home, free educational materials and more.
  • Registration is open for GO2’s annual Lung Cancer Voices Summit, March 19-21 in Washington, DC. Join advocates from across the country to learn, network and advocate for the urgent needs of the lung cancer community, culminating in an opportunity to share your story with your state representatives on Capitol Hill in support of increased funding for lung cancer research.
  • Every year, GO2 offers a variety of events including walk/runs, endurance events and more. Find an event in your community.
