FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Washington D.C. – September 15, 2022

GO2 for Lung Cancer is honored to announce it received a $25,000 grant from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF). The grant will help fund its “Partners and Progress” program which works to provide veterans early access to lung cancer screening.

GO2 Executive Director and Co-founder Laurie Fenton Ambrose said, “It’s an honor to partner with the Disabled Veterans National Foundation to support our Partners and Progress initiative aimed at creating avenues for veterans to be screened for lung cancer. Lung cancer screening is the best tactic in place to detect lung cancer early to ensure targeted treatment therapies can be implemented and positive results achieved.”

Joseph VanFonda (USMC Sgt.Maj. Ret.), CEO of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation said, “We are very excited to partner with the GO2 for Lung Cancer.  The Partners Progress program is much needed for our disabled and at-risk veterans, to have these additional resources in the medical community is much needed and will be utilized.”

About the Disabled Veterans National Foundation:

Disabled Veterans National Foundation exists to provide critically needed support to disabled and at-risk veterans who leave the military wounded—physically or psychologically—after defending our safety and our freedom.

DVNF achieves this mission by:

  • Offering direct financial support to veteran organizations that address the unique needs of veterans, and whose missions align with that of DVNF.
  • Providing supplemental assistance to homeless and low-income veterans through the Health & Comfort program and various empowerment resources.
  • Providing an online resource database that allows veterans to navigate the complex process of seeking benefits that they are entitled to as a result of their military service, as well as additional resources they need.
  • Serving as a thought leader on critical policy issues within the veteran community and educating the public accordingly.
