Vishisht Mehta, MD
Vishisht Mehta, MD, is the director of interventional pulmonology at the Lung Center of Nevada, a division of Comprehensive Cancer Centers. He is also the department chair of pulmonology at MountainView Hospital, both in Las Vegas. He is fellowship-trained in interventional pulmonology and specializes in the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of lung conditions.
He received the prestigious Fellow of the College of Chest Physicians designation from the American College of Chest Physicians, serves on the Nevada Leadership Board of the American Lung Association and the Board of the Nevada Cancer Coalition, and is the founder of the Nevada Lung Foundation, his personal philanthropic effort to improve lung health and lung cancer screening in the state. VEGAS INC recognized him for his work with its prestigious 40 Under 40 award in 2023.
As a pulmonologist, leader in lung cancer, and founder of Pulmonary.ai, Dr. Mehta leverages his expertise to stay ahead of the latest advances in artificial intelligence. He will share key information that will transform lung cancer diagnosis and treatment outcomes.
Rodney C. Haring, PhD, MSW
Rodney C. Haring, PhD, MSW, is the inaugural chair of the Department of Indigenous Cancer Health at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Haring is an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians (Beaver Clan) and resides on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation in New York. He has a doctoral degree in social work and has been practicing for over 15 years.
He also spearheaded the historic agreement between Rowell Park and Indian Health Services, which aims to address health burdens in Indigenous communities. In 2017, the National Indian Health Board awarded him an Impact Award, and in 2021, he received the National Federation of Just Communities Hero Award. His research interests intersect eliminating disparities and encouraging resiliencies within First Nations and Indigenous societies.
Dr. Rodney Haring is the visionary and developer of the Department of Indigenous Cancer Health at Roswell Park. He is laser-focused on providing the framework needed to support the health and well-being of Indigenous societies. He will bring his expertise in addressing the needs of this population to our event.
