Help shape the future for millions of Americans at risk or living with lung cancer.

Make your voice heard demanding vital federal funding for lung cancer research. This year we’re requesting $20 million to increase the Lung Cancer Research Program—the largest lung cancer program outside of the National Cancer Institute. Funding for this critical program will support studies in early detection and treatment of lung cancer. Even if you aren’t signed up to attend the Virtual Lung Cancer Voices Summit, you can still speak up and share your lung cancer story. Here are four simple actions you can take during our Virtual Lung Cancer Voices Summit, June 15-16.

  1. Email your elected officials.
Use the Voter Voice platform to send a pre-written email and tweet to your elected congressional leaders (representative, senators). You can always personalize the existing message to better tell your story.
  2. Submit a letter to the editor.
Voter Voice also gives you the option to submit a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. The platform has options for elected officials who support the funding legislation and those who have not yet signed on to support it.
  3. Raise awareness on social media.
Share social media graphics to raise lung cancer awareness among your friends, family, and community. Also use hashtags to amplify the message in Twitter, Facebook, and across all your social channels! Add #VoicesSummit and #FundOurLungs to help build momentum as one collective voice across social media platforms. Be sure to tag us with the handles below!
  4. Craft a short video.
Short (60 seconds or less) videos are a great way to spread awareness about lung cancer while also educating legislators in a very personal way. Tell your story and share it via social media.

Grab the Advocacy Action Toolkit and prepare to amplify the national call for lung cancer research funding, June 15-16.

We’ve given you the tools, and next week we want to see your voice in action.
