GO2 for Lung Cancer proudly joins the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) to present the Lung Cancer Social Worker of the Year Award.

This award recognizes social workers who aid and support the lung cancer community and is bestowed annually at the AOSW annual meeting.

From the strong award submissions, we are pleased to announce Catherine Paykin, MSW, LCSW of Perlmutter Cancer Center at New York University (NYU) as the inaugural 2020 award recipient.

The colleague who submitted the application for Catherine described her as, amongst other things: creative, innovative, committed, compassionate, a leader, amazing and generous.

In his letter of support for Catherine’s application, Dr. Abraham Chachoua of NYU stated, “The kindness with which she treats our patients is exemplary, and she is a role model for many. She has also played a role model in building the morale on our team.”

Catherine was also the recipient of the 2018 GO2 for Lung Cancer’s Lung Cancer Support Group Facilitator’s Award.
