Emotional Support

The Grief and Understanding In Death and End-of-life Support (GUIDES) Program is our peer-to-peer program for caregivers whose loved one is at the end of life or has died. Our GUIDES have all lost a loved one to lung cancer and want to help you through your journey. GUIDES share their story and listen to you with compassion in a way that only someone who has been there can offer.

To be matched

It’s easy to get connected. Just call our toll-free HelpLine at 1-800-298-2436 or support@go2.org and ask to be matched with a GUIDES volunteer.

We’ll ask questions about what you and your loved one have gone through so that we can match you with the GUIDE who will be most helpful for you. We will then link you with a GUIDE so you can share experiences, ask questions, get tips on how to cope and support. Our GUIDES are not professionally trained in end-of-life and bereavement and may not be able to meet all your needs but they can tell you about their own experiences, provide support, and above all, hope.

To volunteer

We are always looking for volunteers to join the GUIDES and we’d love to have you join us. If your loved one died more than a year ago and you are interested in joining the program, just contact us at 1-800-298-2436 or support@go2.org and we’ll mail you an introductory packet that fully explains the volunteer process.
